We sell at two local farmers markets during the summer and fall. Last year we decided to offer maple lemonade as a refreshing drink for those hot market days. It took us a few tries to perfect the recipe, but it is a total hit… and totally delicious!
We keep it simple. Only three ingredients. Freshly squeezed lemons, water, and the sweet stuff!
If you don’t feel like squeezing a bunch of lemons, you can substitute bottled lemon juice. You can jazz it up a bit by adding some chopped strawberries or blueberries, or even some mint. For an adult version, mix in some vodka.
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (approximately 4-6 lemons)
- 4 cups water
- 1/3 cup Dark maple syrup
Directions: Mix well. Serve over ice!
If you happen to find yourself in Vermont this summer or fall, swing by the Jeffersonville Market (Wednesday 4:30-8) or the Fairfax Market (Thursday 4:30-8).
